my friend started a new web magazine its basically just bringing together everything that they like as part of a doctorate program for american literature, they asked me to be an english contributor as they are all japanese which is interesting because i have terrible english but any how… its all about art and interesting stuff so other people can read interesting stuff so i basically just find interesting stuff and blog about it on their web magazine and they make it look all cool and shit I have a very very small part, basically making the japanese translations “make good english” and facebooking and twittering in english so it keeps the day to day flow of people up …… but if any one wants anything cool mentioned on it…. or if you have an art project you want seen by people in japan or if you want to also contribute let me know and i can get you an in with the boss.

groceries

I LOVE the process of ordering stuff online an getting it delivered, well groceries any how. Sounds like a pretty boring topic for a post but any way, apparently as per a FB “friend” moaning about how “Some” people post boring crap on their FB status about every time they sneeze etc, and how they have no lives. I can’t tell for sure but I think she may have been talking about me… it’s totally unlikely, but she has the mentality of a 15 year old so I don’t give a crap what she thinks any how and so made it so she couldn’t read my amazing posts any way….

Oh yeah back to groceries. Well I just got some delivered right now and for some reason I ordered 2 different types of schnitzel, I freaking LOVE schnitzel but not that much and so I am going to have to totally eat a lot of schnitzel, luckily one is pork the wiener schnitzel… well actually wiener is meant to be veal but veal gives me the poops, and the other is beef and i don’t know what the word for beef is.

some interesting reading last night I read about Epicurus he sounds like a pretty alright guy he had a shit deal with the romans and greeks telling every one he was a lame’o and stuff, but I think he had the right idea….

In no way do I believe that anyone should live by any set of rules or guidelines on how to live their life but this guy  was kind of just trying to open people up to life by setting them free from it and his philosophy sounds nice and less arsehole.  here are a few pointers he named a few things that are bare necessities: the usual food water shelter and warmth but he also said freedom, thought and friendship which i think is rather nice.

“because eating and drinking with out a friend is the life of a lion or a wolf”

and to live a life with out fear was his other major point, Epicurus dropped the whole idea of an after life and with it the fear of eternal punishment so when you are gone you are gone… which i believe in any way but for the life of me i don’t understand why others do.

Epicurus also advocated equal rights for men and women, and free schooling and that teaching should be about observation which is basically the cornerstone to the scientific method, oh and he founded atomic physics. plus apparently he was a happy and funny guy which is just great, his way of thinking was the most popular belief system for over 800 years until christianity became the state religion of the roman empire… 

the mantra from his book the four cures is 

don’t fear God.

don’t worry about death.

what is good is easy to get, and what is terrible is easy to endure.

So i really liked reading about him because his beliefs don’t challenge my beliefs in any way (lol). other amazing people are Benjamin Franklin who not only, only went to school till he was 12 he was a bit of a hoot too, which I think is great.

One time he was asked to publish a letter that had questionable topics or politics that he didn’t believe, in his newspaper which he initially refused,  they then threaten him to pull out funding, so he went home ate some bread and water and slept of the floor woke up ate some more bread and water and then penned a letter saying that he thought he would manage just fine with out their funding “from this regimen I feel no inconvince whatever. Finding I can live in this manner, I have formed a determination never to prostitute my press to the purposes of corruption and abuse of this kind” cheeky shit lol.
